Happy New Year!

I can't welcome in a new year without giving recognition and thanks to a great "old" year. 2009 brought fun, new memories.
*We celebrated my "baby's" first birthday as best we could (all four of us had the stomach flu that day). We are planning to make up for it this year.
*We then welcomed home my brother-in-law, Greg, from Afghanistan! To celebrate, we took a vacation to the "happiest place on earth"....Disneyland! We had a blast and hope to go back again soon! (By soon, I mean several years).
*Right after we vacationed, we celebrated another birthday-our daughter turned three. She still talks about her Sleeping Beauty cake. It's hard to believe she is now almost four. They grow up so fast.
*In July I entered my last year of "the 20's". I think from now on I may just start ignoring my birthday. There is just something about turning 30!?!?!?
*Also in July, we said a three year farewell to my sister and her family as they have ventured out to Illinois to persue a life in the law field. We sure miss them and are quickly counting down the days till they come back home.
*In August, we announced that baby number three is on his way! We are completely 100% excited to welcome this little guy here in the next 2-3 months, we just hope we can decide on a name for him rather than "little guy".
*September brought a large event in our lives-my husband was called to be the bishop of our ward. While we feel it is a great blessing and privilege to serve our Father in Heaven, this calling has certainly brought some adjustments and, at times, some stress into our lives. But as we have quickly come to find, we have certainly been more blessed than stressed! We love the members of our ward and that makes it easier to serve. And we love our Heavenly Father and will answer any call that comes our way.
*November started out with a birthday for my husband and ended with a wonderful Thanksgiving. We love being with our families and cherish the memories that we make with them. We hope for lots more.
*December was a very, very busy month! As I am sure it was for most of you. Even in all the "hustle and bustle", we enjoyed the Spirit of the holiday and feel very grateful to have a testimony and knowledge of our Savior.
We are grateful for a wonderful year and look forward to a new one. A new year brings many opprotunities for change, progress and growth!
Happy New Year!!!

Wow what a year! You are guys are such great examples to all those around you! I miss our talks, it was fun to talk to you guys when you would take your walks around the block and when we stopped by your house. We hope to see you in 2010!

I can't believe that your husband is the bishop! I bet that has been some adjustment. I know what you mean about the 30's! Did you ever think we were going to get this old? I've decided that the 30's have got to be a better relationship decade for me so bring it on! :)

Well said, Tan. You certainly have a wonderful way of describing life. You have had a busy five years. It is going to get busier, too, with three little ones. A little motherly advise, "ENJOY EVERY DAY, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING MORE PRECIOUS THAN YOUR HUSBAND AND YOUR CHILDREN". Some of the events of this past week have made me stop and realize how very blessed we are with our family members and their strong testimonies of the gospel. Keep them strong and work hard at keeping your family relationships strong. There is nothing more important!!!!!!

About Me

Elder Marvin J. Ashton once stated, " No matter how or where we find ourselves, we cannot with any justification label ourselves 'nobody'. As children of God we are somebody." With that said, I am a mommy, wife, sister, aunt, daughter, neighbor and friend.
